7 Extension Cord Safety Tips You Need to Know

Have you ever set up a room just the way you like it and then realized you can’t plug anything into the outlets because they’re too far away? 1. Extension cords are meant to be temporary and should not be left plugged in all day and night for weeks on end. These cords are not meant to replace the job of your home’s actual wiring.

7. If you need to use an extension cord outside, make sure it is made for outside use. Even if your cord is meant to be used outside, try not to use it while it’s raining.
