What To Do When Your Air Conditioner Blows Hot Air

It is never a good thing to be filled with hot air–especially if you are talking about your air conditioner. Is your A/C unit blowing out hot air? If so, keep reading. Below are some ways to troubleshoot this issue.

  • Check your thermostat. Make sure that the power source is on. It should be set to the “Auto” setting. If that does not work, the thermostat may have been wired improperly or it may be on its last legs.

  • When is the last time you cleaned your air conditioner’s coils? If you have to think about that question long and hard, make sure you give your coils a thorough cleaning.

  • Inspect the Freon levels in your air conditioning system. If the Freon levels are low, you will need more Freon.

  • Is your air conditioner leaking? Be sure to clean the drain pan.

  • If all else fails, check the outdoor unit. It is possible that the compressor is burnt out.

Still need service on your air conditioner? If you want to work with the very best in the business, the answer is clear. Choose Lancaster Plumbing, Heating and Cooling for your air conditioner needs.
